Job summary

Austin Industrial is seeking a QA/QC Inspector to ensure welding work is safe and compliant at project sites in Plaquemine, LA. You will inspect welds (MIG, TIG, arc, laser) on tubes, plates, and tanks and coordinate with client QA teams.

Responsibilities include daily site inspections, NDE coordination, hydrostatic testing witness, and reporting. Must have AWS CWI, NCCER, TWIC, and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• AWS CWI certification and NCCER credentials required.
• 8 years of industrial welding inspection experience preferred.
• TWIC card and valid driver's license required.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily inspections at project sites focusing on welding, structural, and civil work.
• Monitor the progress of construction and ensure all processes comply with standards.
• Draft daily reports based on site observations, highlighting discrepancies or safety issues.
• Report non-compliance or issues to QA Manager and Project Manager.
• Coordinate inspections to ensure alignment with client specs and state laws.
• Perform NDE inspections of welds as necessary.
• Witness hydrostatic testing of welded piping or vessels for integrity.
• Collaborate with client QA personnel to address quality concerns.
• Oversee welders to ensure adherence to policies, procedures, and safety standards.
• Plan, assign, and direct work to ensure successful project completion.
