Job summary

Austin Industrial is seeking a QA/QC Inspector to ensure welding work is safe and compliant across project sites. The role emphasizes safety regulations, NDE inspections, and coordinating with QA teams to uphold quality standards.

Responsibilities include daily site inspections, reporting, hydrostatic testing oversight, and collaboration with client QA personnel. 8 years experience and relevant certifications are preferred for this position.

Qualifications

• 8 years' experience in an Industrial setting preferred.
• Valid Driver's License, TWIC Card, AWS CWI CERT & NCCER.
• Must be able to perform inspections and coordinate with QA teams to ensure compliance.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily inspections at project sites focusing on welding, structural, and civil work.
• Monitor construction progress to ensure processes meet standards.
• Draft daily reports based on site observations and highlight discrepancies or safety issues.
• Report non-compliance or issues to the QA/QC Manager and Project Manager.
• Coordinate inspections to ensure work aligns with client specifications and state laws.
• Perform NDE inspections of welds as necessary.
• Witness hydrostatic testing of welded piping or vessels.
• Collaborate with client QA personnel to address quality concerns.
• Indirect supervision of welders and oversight of safety compliance.
• Plan, assign, and direct work to ensure successful project completion.
• Evaluate employee performance and address issues.
