Job summary

Austin Industrial is seeking a QA/QC Inspector to ensure welding work is safe and compliant with ASME standards. You will be fully conversant with MIG, TIG, arc, laser and butt welds on steel and aluminum for tubes, bars, plates and tanks, performing daily site inspections and reporting findings.

Responsibilities include monitoring construction, coordinating NDE when needed, drafting daily reports, and working with client QA teams to uphold safety and quality.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or GED; 5+ years inspector experience.
• ASME B31.36, ASME Sec VIII, NBIC, AWS CWI with Level II VT/MT/PT.
• 8+ years quality control in industrial settings; valid driver license and TWIC.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily inspections at project sites focusing on welding, structural, and civil work.
• Monitor construction progress and ensure compliance with standards.
• Draft daily reports highlighting discrepancies or safety issues.
• Report non-compliance to QA/QC Manager and Project Manager.
• Coordinate inspections to align with client specs and state laws.
• Oversee welders indirectly and ensure safety and policy adherence.
