Job summary

Austin Industrial is seeking a QA/QC Inspector to ensure welding work is safe and compliant throughout project sites in the United States. The role emphasizes adherence to safety regulations, quality standards, and documenting site conditions.

The inspector will perform NDE, hydrostatic testing oversight, and close collaboration with client QA teams. Prior experience in industrial settings and relevant certifications are required to ensure safe, efficient project execution.

Qualifications

• Certification/License: Valid Driver's License, TWIC Card, AWS CWI CERT & NCCER.
• 8 years' experience in an Industrial setting preferred.
• Must read, comprehend, and follow safety procedures; ability to work in industrial environments.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily inspections at project sites focusing on welding and civil work.
• Monitor construction progress and ensure compliance with standards.
• Draft daily reports based on site observations.
• Report non-compliance to QA/QC Manager and Project Manager.
• Coordinate code inspections to meet client specs and state laws.
• Map out welds to be performed and flag for NDE when needed.
• NDE inspections of welds as necessary.
• Fully inspect welds before/after hydrostatic testing of piping or vessels.
• Witness hydrostatic testing of welded piping or vessels to ensure integrity.
• Collaborate with client QA personnel to address quality concerns.
• Indirect supervision of welders and adherence to safety standards.
• Interview, hire, and train employees as necessary.
• Plan, assign, and direct work to ensure project completion.
• Evaluate employee performance and address issues.
