Job summary

Austin Industrial is seeking a QA/QC Inspector to ensure welding work is safe, compliant, and ready for service. The role requires expertise in MIG, TIG, arc, laser welding, and NDE coordination for steel and aluminum components.

Daily site inspections, reporting, and collaboration with client QA personnel are essential. Position involves supervising welders and contributing to safety and quality programs across industrial projects.

Qualifications

• 8 years' experience in an industrial setting preferred.
• Valid Driver's License.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily inspections at project sites focusing on welding, structural, and civil work.
• Monitor construction progress to ensure compliance with standards.
• Draft daily site reports highlighting discrepancies or safety issues.
• Report non-compliance to QA/QC Manager and Project Manager.
• Coordinate inspections to align with client specifications and state laws.
• Map welds for Non-Destructive Examination (NDE) when needed.
• Perform NDE inspections of welds as necessary.
• Fully inspect welds before and after hydrostatic testing of piping or vessels.
• Witness hydrostatic testing to ensure integrity and compliance.
• Collaborate with client QA personnel to meet quality standards.
• Supervise welders and assist in hiring/training as needed.
• Plan and direct work to ensure on-time project completion.
• Evaluate employee performance and address issues.
