Our client, a popular snack foods distributor, is seeking a QA & Compliance Specialist to join their team. As a QA & Compliance Specialist, you will be part of the Product Development Team supporting quality and compliance. The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree in food science, nutrition, biology, or a related field, at least 3 years of experience in food quality and regulatory compliance, and strong knowledge of HACCP, FDA requirements, which will align successfully in the organization.

Job Title: Quality Assurance & Compliance Specialist
Location: Irvine, California
Pay Rate: $50K - $60K D.O.E.

What’s the Job?

1. Act as the primary liaison for overseas QA personnel on product safety.
2. Ensure products, ingredients, labels, and claims comply with FDA regulations and company standards.
3. Oversee FSMA compliance and respond to FDA audits and regulatory inquiries.
4. Maintain and manage FSVP documentation, including the recall plan, FDA food facility registration, HACCP plan, and certificates of analysis.
5. Conduct internal audits of product labels and provide corrective action guidance.

What’s Needed?

• Bachelor's degree in food science, nutrition, biology, or a related field.
• At least 3 years of experience in the food industry QA, regulatory compliance, or product development.
• Strong knowledge of HACCP, FSMA, FDA food safety, and labeling regulations.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, MS Office Suite.
• Knowledge of Japanese culture/language is a plus but not required.
