Job summary

T. Rowe Price is seeking a software engineer to design, develop, adapt, and implement both short-term and strategic IT solutions.

You will work on applications, systems, databases, and infrastructure, translating requirements into technical specifications and collaborating with Quants, Portfolio Managers, and Analysts to enable timely, business-critical decisions. The role involves hands-on coding, testing, debugging, and deploying software, with daily impact for Front Office Investment

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
• 2+ years of progressive experience with Python.
• Hands-on experience with AWS services such as ECS, Fargate, Lambda, SNS, SQS, S3, DynamoDB, ALB, CloudFront, CloudWatch, IAM, and others.
• Experience with Python frameworks and tools (e.g., NumPy, Pandas).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a results-oriented mindset.
• Familiarity with multiple programming paradigms (OOP, functional) and solid software design patterns.
• Commitment to quality through automated testing, code reviews, and CI/CD.

Responsibilities

• Utilize internal tools to manage AWS-based services.
• Integrate with RESTful and GRPC APIs.
• Contribute to unit and integration testing and maintain CI/CD pipeline.
• Translate business requirements into technical specifications.
• Manage technical debt in solutions.
• Approach problems systematically and make informed decisions.
• Demonstrate flexibility and adapt solutions as needed.
• Mentor junior team members and guide the team.
• Proactively suggest improvements to team practices.
