Job summary

SOLV Energy is seeking a Performance Engineer II - O&M to oversee day‑to‑day operations of active solar projects. This role can be fully remote or hybrid with in‑office presence in San Diego, CA or Bend, OR; interview will discuss specifics.

You will collaborate with internal teams, onboard projects, track issues, analyze energy losses, run PV models with PVsyst, and prepare client reports. Travel up to 20% may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, physics, science, or related technical discipline.
• 4+ years’ experience in PV Performance Engineering or data analytics.
• Experience in modeling using software like PVSyst, PlantPredict, SAM, etc.
• Proficiency in MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and other Office tools.
• Experience with programming languages like Python, VBA, MATLAB, Java, etc.
• Ability to travel up to 20% of time.
• Broad understanding of Renewable Energy industry with emphasis on Service and Construction.

Responsibilities

• Safety is the top priority and all personnel follow safe practices.
• Collaborate with internal teams to collect data for reports and tests.
• On-board active projects into internal Performance Team platforms.
• Track issues with construction/operational fleet and share findings with teams.
• Troubleshoot performance data to identify commissioning challenges.
• Lead junior engineers in day-to-day coordination and management.
• Analyze energy losses and report impacts to relevant teams.
• Update client reports including Commissioning Plans and Test Reports.
• Support field work prioritization based on criticality.
• Review turnover docs to analyze root causes of failures.
