Job summary

Hughes Brothers Construction, Inc. is seeking a Purchasing Coordinator to provide administrative support for the Purchasing department, assist with order processing, vendor communication, data entry and issue resolution.

This role collaborates with project managers and engineers to ensure timely delivery of materials, establishes and maintains supplier relationships, and helps resolve product or pricing issues while supporting field personnel training on purchasing procedures.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Associate or bachelor’s degree in relevant field required
• General knowledge of purchasing procedures
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) and familiarity with purchasing/inventory systems
• Ability to work well individually or as part of a team
• Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred

Responsibilities

• Assisting with purchasing of materials, equipment and subcontractor services
• Reviewing plans, specifications and contracts to ensure correct items and quantities are purchased
• Collaborating with project managers and engineers to ensure timely delivery of materials
• Establishing and maintaining relationships with key suppliers and vendors
• Resolving vendor disputes including product or pricing issues
• Communicating product changes to sales, construction and subcontractors
• Data entry, filing, and other administrative tasks for the department
• Assisting with field personnel training on purchasing procedures
