Job summary

Hughes Brothers Construction in Central Florida is seeking a Purchasing Coordinator to support the Purchasing department with order processing, vendor communications, data entry, and issue resolution.

Responsibilities include reviewing plans and contracts, coordinating with project managers to ensure timely delivery of materials, maintaining supplier relationships, and handling administrative tasks for the department.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Associate or bachelor’s degree in a relevant field is required.
• General knowledge of purchasing procedures and familiarity with purchasing or inventory systems.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and ability to work in teams.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with purchasing of materials, equipment and subcontractor services.
• Review plans, specifications and contracts to ensure correct items and quantities.
• Collaborate with project managers and engineers to ensure timely delivery of materials.
• Establish and maintain relationships with suppliers and vendors.
• Resolve vendor disputes, including product or pricing issues.
• Communicate product changes to sales, construction and subcontractors.
• Data entry, filing, and other admin tasks for the department.
• Assist field personnel training on purchasing procedures.
