Job summary

Hughes Brothers Construction, Inc. in Central Florida is hiring a Purchasing Coordinator to provide administrative support to our Purchasing department.

You will assist with order processing, vendor communication, data entry, and issue resolution under the Purchasing Manager. Collaborate with project managers and engineers to ensure timely delivery of materials, review plans and contracts for correct items, establish supplier relationships, and handle field personnel training on purchasing

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Associate or Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field is required.
• General knowledge of purchasing procedures.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) and familiarity with purchasing or inventory systems.
• Ability to work well individually or as part of a team.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with purchasing of materials, equipment, and subcontractor services.
• Review plans, specifications, and contracts to ensure correct items and quantities are purchased.
• Collaborate with project managers and engineers to ensure timely delivery of materials.
• Establish and maintain relationships with key suppliers and vendors.
• Resolve vendor disputes, including product or pricing issues.
• Communicate product changes to sales, construction, and subcontractors.
• Data entry, filing, and other administrative tasks for the department.
• Assist with field personnel training on purchasing procedures.
