Job summary

Rex Moore near Reno, NV is seeking an Assistant Purchasing Agent to support the Purchasing team with purchase orders, vendor communications, order tracking and procurement activities. This role helps ensure timely material procurement and accurate purchasing records while supporting project teams and maintaining strong vendor relationships.

This position requires 1-3 years of purchasing or related experience, strong Excel and ERP skills, and a willingness to travel up to 25%.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years of purchasing, procurement, administrative, or construction support experience preferred.
• Construction industry experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist Purchasing Agents with preparing and issuing purchase orders.
• Review purchase requests for completeness and accuracy.
• Communicate with vendors regarding pricing, availability, order status, and delivery schedules.
• Track open purchase orders and follow up on outstanding deliveries.
• Maintain purchasing records, vendor files, and procurement documentation.
• Coordinate with Project Managers, Warehouse personnel, and Accounting to resolve purchasing issues.
• Process order acknowledgments and update purchasing systems.
• Assist with invoice reconciliation and purchase order discrepancies.
• Obtain pricing and quotations from approved vendors.
• Monitor supplier lead times and communicate potential delays to project teams.
• Support inventory coordination and material tracking.
• Perform additional administrative duties as assigned.
