Rex Moore seeks a Purchasing Agent to source, purchase, and expedite materials for electrical construction projects near Reno, NV. You will collaborate with project managers, superintendents, estimators, vendors, and warehouse staff to ensure timely delivery within budget.

The role emphasizes supplier relationships, price negotiations, and proactive procurement to support project success across the Reno area.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of purchasing or procurement experience, preferably within electrical or commercial construction.
• Experience purchasing construction materials, tools, equipment, or subcontracted services preferred.
• Strong understanding of procurement processes and supply chain principles.

Responsibilities

• Procure materials, equipment, and services in accordance with project requirements and company policies.
• Review purchase requests for accuracy, completeness, and budget compliance.
• Solicit quotations and negotiate pricing, lead times, and delivery schedules with vendors.
• Generate and issue purchase orders while maintaining accurate procurement records.
• Track and expedite material deliveries to ensure project schedules are maintained.
• Coordinate with Project Managers, Field Operations, Warehouse, and Accounting to resolve purchasing and delivery issues.
• Monitor vendor performance related to pricing, quality, delivery, and customer service.
• Resolve discrepancies involving purchase orders, invoices, shipments, damaged materials, or shortages.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities through strategic sourcing and supplier negotiations.
• Maintain strong relationships with existing vendors while identifying new supplier opportunities.
• Ensure purchasing activities comply with company procedures and contractual requirements.
• Assist with inventory planning and material availability as needed.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives within the Purchasing department.
