Purchasing Assistant - Construction
Local electrical/transportation construction industry company seeking a self-motivated Purchasing Assistant capable of providing various administrative, procurement, and support functions.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
- Order entry, purchase order processing.
- Expediting orders, problem resolution, and filing paperwork.
- Review and understand blueprints, plans, and specifications to perform material take-offs.
- Contact vendors/suppliers for quotations and negotiate purchases.
- Coordinate deliveries and expedite orders with suppliers.
- Interface with other departments and field personnel as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned to maintain department functions.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must be 18 years or older.
- 1 to 2 years of industry-related experience preferred.
- Construction background and procurement experience required.
- Highly detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
- Fast learner of processes and procedures.
- Proficient at multitasking and prioritizing.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, SharePoint, Spectrum.
Education & Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- 2 years of industry experience preferred.
Pre-Screen:
- Employees may be required to pass pre-employment drug screen, background, and MVR checks.
License & Certifications:
- Driver's License preferred but not required.
Physical Requirements:
- Rare (less than 10%): walking, kneeling, squatting, crawling, distance vision, climbing, lifting over 10-50 lbs., depth perception, color vision, carrying, pushing, pulling, ladder climbing, balancing, lifting up to 10 lbs., lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Occasional (up to 33%): standing, stooping, twisting, gripping, reaching, stair climbing.
- Frequent (up to 66%): sitting, touch, manual dexterity, speaking, reading, hearing.
- Continuous (up to 100%): seeing.
