LK Jordan & Associates in Katy, TX seeks an experienced Purchasing Agent / Inside Sales Representative to manage the order process from quoted request to invoicing. You will assist customers with equipment, parts, and consumables, coordinating with vendors and internal teams in a fast-paced Oil & Gas/industrial supply environment.

Ideal candidates will have hands-on experience in purchasing or inside sales, manage quotes and orders in QuickBooks, and maintain strong customer relationships.

Qualifications

• Experience in purchasing, inside sales, or order management.
• Oil & Gas or industrial equipment experience preferred.
• Experience managing orders from quote through invoice.
• Knowledge of sales orders, purchase orders, product sourcing, and vendor coordination.
• QuickBooks experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers via calls, emails, and walk-in visits.
• Identify customer equipment, parts, and supply needs.
• Prepare accurate quotes and process customer orders.
• Enter and manage sales orders and purchase orders in QuickBooks.
• Check inventory and confirm product availability.
• Source products from vendors when items are not in stock.
• Obtain vendor pricing and place purchase orders.
• Track orders from initial request through delivery and invoicing.
• Provide customers with proactive updates on pricing, availability, and delivery timelines.
• Maintain accurate customer, order, purchasing, and inventory records.
• Resolve order issues and respond to customer questions professionally.
• Build and maintain relationships with customers and vendors.
• Identify opportunities to recommend additional products and services.

Job Summary LK Jordan & Associates is seeking an experienced Purchasing Agent / Inside Sales Representative for a temp-to-hire opportunity with a well-established company in Katy, TX. This position is responsible for assisting customers with their equipment, parts, and consumable needs while managing the entire order process from initial request through invoicing. The ideal candidate has experience in the Oil & Gas or industrial supply industry and is comfortable working directly with customers, vendors, and internal team members.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers through incoming calls, emails, and walk-in visits
• Identify customer equipment, parts, and supply needs
• Prepare accurate quotes and process customer orders
• Enter and manage sales orders and purchase orders in QuickBooks
• Check inventory and confirm product availability
• Source products from vendors when items are not currently in stock
• Obtain vendor pricing and place purchase orders
• Track orders from initial request through final delivery and invoicing
• Provide customers with proactive updates regarding pricing, availability, and delivery timelines

Requirements

• Previous experience in purchasing, inside sales, counter sales, customer service, or order management
• Oil & Gas, industrial equipment, parts, or supply experience strongly preferred
• Experience managing orders from quote through invoice
• Knowledge of sales orders, purchase orders, product sourcing, and vendor coordination
• QuickBooks experience preferred
• Strong customer service and communication skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and general computer systems
• Ability to manage multiple customer requests and priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and follow-through
• Dependable, proactive, and team-oriented
• Reliable transportation to the Katy area
