Job summary

Automation Personnel Services, Inc. in Channelview, TX is seeking a highly motivated Purchasing Agent to join our customers’ growing team.

The role involves sourcing and purchasing steel, coatings, and related materials for fabrication and coating operations, with responsibility for vendor relations and timely deliveries. The position offers a full-time/temporary schedule from Monday to Friday, 7:00am-4:00pm, with a pay rate of $25.00–$30.00 per hour based on experience.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in purchasing or procurement within steel, coatings, or industrial manufacturing.
• Must be able to lift 55 lbs. (lifting assessment administered in office)
• Strong negotiation and vendor management skills
• Working knowledge of steel grades, coatings, and related materials
• Detail-oriented, organized, and cost-conscious approach
• Prior experience supporting oil & gas fabrication or maintenance operations
• Technical understanding of industrial equipment parts and components

Responsibilities

Pay Rate

$25.00 – $30.00 per hour depending on experience

Schedule and Hours

Monday through Friday, 7:00am-4:00pm.
