Job summary

Redding Rancheria is seeking an Accountant I - Purchasing Specialist to support the Tribal Government Finance Department. You will handle purchasing cycles, order and track asset inventories, and assist with accounts payable as the primary backup to the Accounts Payable Specialist.

Under supervision, you’ll interact with staff, Tribal Members, and vendors daily, ensuring proper coding, pricing, and timely processing of transactions.

Qualifications

• 2 year degree in accounting or 5+ years of related accounting experience.
• Indian preference applies.

Responsibilities

• Perform accounts payable, purchasing and procurement tasks.
• Date stamp and review purchase orders and invoices with proper coding and approvals.
• Research best pricing for products on purchase orders.
• Coordinate with requesters to meet items, quantities and terms.
• Serve as liaison with vendors to resolve invoicing discrepancies.
• Process and reconcile accounts payable, credit card orders, and vouchers.
• Match receiving documents with invoices and address any discrepancies.
• Maintain vendor records, W-9s, and contract tracking.
• Assist with year-end reconciliation and 1099 preparation as needed.
• Maintain office supplies inventory and conduct monthly counts.
