Accounts Payable Clerk – Tribal Housing Finance (On-site)

Zusammenfassung

Jobot is seeking an Accounts Payable Clerk in San Felipe Pueblo, NM, to support accurate invoice processing and timely vendor payments. This on-site contract-to-hire role reports to the Finance Supervisor and partners with a Financial Consultant to ensure compliance with federal, state, and tribal requirements.

The ideal candidate has 4–5 years’ related experience, strong detail orientation, and familiarity with MIP Accounting Software.

Qualifikationen

• High school diploma or GED required; an associate’s or bachelor’s degree is preferred.
• Four to five years of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Knowledge of accounts payable processes, invoice coding, vendor reconciliations, and payment documentation.
• Understanding of W-9 requirements, sales tax considerations, and other accounts payable compliance matters.
• Experience with MIP Accounting Software preferred.
• Experience working with tribes or tribal governments preferred.
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and communication skills.
• Current New Mexico driver’s license required.

Aufgaben

• Receive, review, log, code, and enter invoices, ensuring proper documentation and assignment to the correct accounts.
• Prepare checks and process outgoing payments in accordance with established financial policies and procedures.
• Verify, classify, and record accounts payable transactions.
• Reconcile vendor accounts and monthly statements, investigate discrepancies, and coordinate resolutions.
• Establish and maintain vendor files, including W-9s, federal identification information, and supporting documentation.
• Review contracts and estimates to verify payment details and resolve discrepancies.
• Assist with bank reconciliations, expense reports, and accounts payable month-end and year-end activities.
• Support the Financial Consultant with financial policies and practices that comply with federal, state, and tribal requirements.
• Assist with HUD reviews, audits, and requests from other oversight agencies.
• Develop a working understanding of HUD Indian Housing and other federal housing programs.
• Review and help maintain appropriate insurance coverage for the organization’s operations and responsibilities.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by leadership.
