Four Seasons Resorts Dominican Republic at Tropicalia is seeking a Purchasing Manager to lead sourcing, supplier negotiations and the pre-opening procurement program. You will oversee POs in Dynamics 365, manage supplier performance, and ensure ethical purchasing aligned with budget and quality standards.

Join a pre-opening team focused on local and international supplier relationships, inventory control, and collaboration with finance and operations to deliver luxury guest experiences.

Qualifications

• University degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Finance, Hospitality Management or related field.
• 3–5 years of progressive purchasing or procurement experience in luxury hotel or high-volume hospitality.
• Strong knowledge of Dominican supplier market, procurement, bidding, contracts and inventory controls.
• Strong analytical, organizational and negotiation skills with integrity in supplier relationships.
• Fluency in Spanish and working proficiency in English; Dynamics 365 experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead purchasing function for the property, procuring food, beverages, operating supplies, equipment and services.
• Support pre-opening procurement activities: sourcing, product evaluations, orders and delivery schedules.
• Collaborate with department leaders on requirements, specs, quality and timelines.
• Source and evaluate suppliers, maintain local and international relationships, support local procurement.
• Obtain quotations, negotiate terms, and make purchasing recommendations based on value and service.
• Process POs in Dynamics 365 following approval and documentation requirements.
• Monitor orders, lead times, deliveries; resolve shortages and quality concerns.
• Maintain supplier records, contracts, quotations, pricing histories and compliance docs.
• Coordinate with Receiving, Stores and Finance to reconcile deliveries, invoices and POs.
• Ensure compliance with Four Seasons policies, budget, ethics and local regulations.
• Provide market updates and recommendations to hotel leadership; monitor pricing trends.
• Support inventory control, par levels and cross-department collaboration.
• Recruit, train, schedule and develop Purchasing team; promote accountability.
• Protect confidential information and avoid conflicts of interest in supplier relations.

Four Seasons Resort and Residences Dominican Republic at Tropicalia will feature 95 keys and 25 branded residential homes, 8 distinct F&B outlets, all thoughtfully designed to reflect a contemporary interpretation of the Dominican Republic's natural beauty. About the Role

Four Seasons Resort and Residences Dominican Republic at Tropicalia is seeking a Purchasing Manager to join our pre-opening team. Reporting to the Director of Finance, this position will lead the property's purchasing activities, ensuring that goods and services are sourced competitively, ethically and efficiently while meeting Four Seasons quality standards, operational requirements and financial controls.

What You Will Do

• Lead the property's purchasing function and ensure the timely procurement of food, beverages, operating supplies, equipment and contracted services.
• Support all pre-opening procurement activities, including vendor sourcing, product evaluations, opening orders, delivery schedules and coordination of operational supplies and equipment.
• Partner with department leaders to understand purchasing requirements, specifications, quality expectations and delivery timelines.
• Source, evaluate and maintain relationships with qualified local and international suppliers while identifying opportunities to support responsible local procurement.
• Obtain and analyze competitive quotations, negotiate prices and commercial terms, and make purchasing recommendations based on quality, value, availability and service.
• Prepare, review and process purchase orders through Microsoft Dynamics 365, ensuring that each transaction follows the established approval process and is supported by complete documentation.
• Monitor outstanding purchase orders, lead times and delivery schedules, proactively resolving shortages, delays, substitutions and quality concerns.
• Maintain current supplier records, contracts, quotations, product specifications, pricing histories and required compliance documentation.
• Collaborate with Receiving, Stores and Finance to verify that deliveries, invoices and purchase orders are accurate and properly reconciled.
• Ensure purchasing activities comply with Four Seasons policies, internal controls, budget requirements, ethical standards and applicable local regulations.
• Monitor market conditions, pricing trends and product availability and provide relevant updates and recommendations to hotel leadership.
• Support inventory-control processes, periodic counts and the establishment of appropriate par levels in partnership with operational departments.
• Recruit, train, schedule, coach and develop the Purchasing team, promoting accountability, collaboration and consistently high standards.
• Protect confidential commercial information and avoid actual or perceived conflicts of interest in all supplier and purchasing relationships.

What You Bring

• University degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Finance, Hospitality Management or a related field.
• A minimum of three to five years of progressive purchasing or procurement experience, preferably within a luxury hotel, resort or high-volume hospitality operation.
• Strong knowledge of the Dominican supplier market, procurement practices, competitive bidding, contract negotiation and inventory controls.
• Strong analytical, organizational and negotiation skills, with high attention to detail and demonstrated integrity in managing supplier relationships.
• Fluency in Spanish and working proficiency in English are required. Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 or a comparable purchasing and financial-management system is preferred.

Schedule & Hours

• This is a full-time position.
• The primary schedule will be during regular business hours; however, flexibility to work early mornings, evenings, weekends or public holidays may be required based on deliveries, inventories, operational demands and pre-opening activities.
