Job summary

The Training Coordinator at ForestSource develops, delivers, and coordinates technical and operational training for Fibreline personnel in the pulp mill, ensuring safe, compliant, and efficient operation through competency-based programs.

The role collaborates with the Department Manager, HR, Health and Safety, and Technical services to build training plans, evaluate performance, and maintain records, including outage planning and operator qualification initiatives.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Pulping Group Operator, Supervisor, or Operations Trainer with significant operating experience in pulp production or comparable kraft pulp mill operations.
• Strong communication, facilitation, and coaching skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts in practical operator-level language.
• Strong computer skills and familiarity with DCS systems, process historians, electronic documentation, and training systems.
• Experience developing competency-based operator qualification programs.

Responsibilities

• Develop Line of Progression (LOP) training with plans, competency profiles, assessment tools and evaluation methods.
• Coordinate weekly training meetings with employees, providing coaching support and maintaining training records.
• Review and edit line of progression training and training matrices.
• Review area SOPs and lockouts as required.
• Conduct one-on-one training with operators using classroom, on-the-job, and online methods.
• Coordinate training with Human Resources, Health and Safety and Technical services for corporate and mill-wide training.
• Assist with area outage and shutdown planning.
• Work with Shift Supervisors to plan training schedules.
• Provide relief supervision as required.
