Job summary

Atlantic Medical Group in Hackettstown, NJ is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant I for a full-time day shift in AMG Pulmonology. The role provides direct and indirect patient care under physician supervision and supports a busy ambulatory clinic.

Responsibilities include patient intake, vital signs, specimen collection, charting in EPIC, coordinating referrals, and guiding patients through the care continuum. Requires HS diploma, CCMA certification, BLS, and 1–2 years outpatient experience.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• National Certification CCMA from: NHA, AAMA, NAHP, ARMA, AMT, AMCA, or NCCT.
• Associate's degree in Medical Care or related field (preferred).
• 1 year of experience in Health Care services.
• 2+ Years Experience in outpatient, ambulatory setting.
• BLS upon hire.
• EPIC or similar EMR system.

Responsibilities

• Handles patient intake, updates medical records, and administers appropriate screening tools.
• Records medical information and test results, conducts patient interviews, takes and records vital signs, collects specimens, and administers medication under physician supervision.
• Assists with walk-in and scheduled clinic visits, ensures verification and recording of clinical data and adherence to quality standards.
• Guides patients through the health care system and helps patients arrive at scheduled appointments on time.
• Taking vital signs to establish a baseline for future exams.
• Assisting with examinations in collaboration with physicians.
• Collecting and preparing laboratory samples and instructing patients on specimen collection.
• Provides emotional support related to the patient's clinical situation and assists with referrals to specialists.
