Job summary

Atlantic Medical Group is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant I for our AMG Primary Care site in Union, NJ. The role involves supporting clinicians, preparing exam rooms, taking vitals, collecting specimens, and maintaining medical records to ensure efficient patient flow.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma and CCMA certification, with 1 year healthcare experience and BLS. Proficiency with EPIC EMR is preferred, and outpatient experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• National Certification CCMA from: NHA, AAMA, NAHP, ARMA, AMT, AMCA, or NCCT.
• Associate's degree in Medical Care or related field (preferred).
• 1 year of experience in Health Care services.
• 2+ Years Experience in outpatient, ambulatory setting
• BLS upon hire
• EPIC or similar EMR system.
• Ability to work within computer systems.

Responsibilities

• Handles patient intake, updates medical records, and administers appropriate screening tools.
• Records medical information and test results, conducts patient interviews, takes and records vital signs, collects specimens, and administers medication under physician supervision.
• Assists with walk-in and scheduled clinic visits, ensures verification and recording of clinical data and adherence to quality standards.
• Guides patients through the health care system and helps patients arrive at scheduled appointments on time.
• Taking vital signs before a patient sees a doctor to establish a baseline for future exams.
• Assisting with examinations in coordination with physicians.
• Collecting and preparing laboratory samples; instructing patients on sample collection or drawing blood.
• Maintains professional communication and supports a fast-paced clinical environment.
