Job summary

Atlantic Health's AMG Primary Care Linden location seeks a Certified Medical Assistant I for a full-time day shift. The role supports physicians across clinical, clerical, and administrative tasks, ensuring smooth practice operations and high-quality patient care.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma, national CCMA certification, BLS, and 1–2 years outpatient experience, with EPIC EMR proficiency and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• National Certification CCMA from: NHA, AAMA, NAHP, ARMA, AMT, AMCA, or NCCT is required.
• Preferred: Associate's degree in Medical Care or related field.
• 1 year of experience in Health Care services is preferred.
• 2+ years of experience in outpatient, ambulatory setting is preferred.
• BLS certification on hire.
• EPIC or similar EMR system experience is preferred.
• Ability to work with computer systems.

Responsibilities

• Handle patient intake, update medical records, and administer screening tools.
• Record medical information and test results, conduct patient interviews, measure vital signs, collect specimens, and administer medications under physician supervision.
• Assist with walk-in and scheduled visits, verify and record clinical data, and ensure quality standards.
• Guide patients through the health care system and help scheduling appointments.
• Take vital signs before doctor visits to establish baselines.
• Assist with examinations in collaboration with physicians.
• Collect and prepare laboratory samples and instruct on sample collection.
• Maintain clear and accurate patient records in the computer system.
• Clean and prep examination rooms and stock supplies.
• Provide emotional support per the plan of care and assist with referrals when needed.
