Atlantic Health System is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant I for AMG Pulmonology in Freehold, NJ. The role supports physicians with direct and indirect patient care, administrative duties, and specimen collection in a fast-paced clinic.

Responsibilities include patient intake, vital signs, records updating, and coordinating referrals, while maintaining professionalism and strong communication with patients and the care team.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• National Certification CCMA from: NHA, AAMA, NAHP, ARMA, AMT, AMCA, or NCCT.
• Associate's degree in Medical Care or related field preferred.
• 1 year of experience in health care services.
• 2+ years experience in outpatient/ambulatory settings.
• BLS upon hire.
• EPIC or similar EMR system.

Responsibilities

• Handle patient intake and update medical records.
• Record and communicate vital signs and clinical data.
• Collect specimens and administer medications under physician supervision.
• Assist with walk-in and scheduled visits, ensuring data accuracy and quality.
• Guide patients through the health care system and help schedule appointments.
• Prepare examination rooms and maintain cleanliness between visits.
• Provide emotional support according to the plan of care and assist with referrals.
