Job summary

Akron Children's Hospital seeks an experienced Advanced Practice Nurse to provide primary and specialty care in collaboration with a physician. The role follows Ohio standards for APN practice and maintains a standard care arrangement with a collaborating physician.

You will conduct health assessments, develop plans, and participate in rounds with the medical team. This position emphasizes high-quality care and active credentialing as part of a collaborative hospital staff.

Qualifications

• Master's or Doctoral Degree in Nursing preferred.
• Licensed as an RN in State of Ohio.
• National Certification as a nurse practitioner.
• Must have or be eligible for certificate to prescribe by Ohio Board of Nursing; ACLS or PALS may be required by practice setting.
• Must obtain credentialing as active medical staff member with privileges.
• Current Health Care Provider BLS training required.

Responsibilities

• Provides advanced nursing care to patients with complex acute, critical, and chronic conditions.
• Practice with diverse populations including neonatal, pediatric, and adult.
• Work in settings with high-acuity care and continuous nursing vigilance.
• Participate in quality monitoring and FPPE/OPPE per ORC and Joint Commission.
• Promote health, disease prevention, and treatment of acute/chronic conditions.
• Contribute to discharge planning and interprofessional collaboration.
• Review records and treatment plans to assure quality care bi-annually.
• Serve as a resource for staff and clinical students.
