Job summary
Akron Children's seeks an experienced Advanced Practice Nurse to provide comprehensive medical and nursing care across regions including Boardman. The role collaborates with physicians, conducts health assessments, orders and interprets tests, and develops treatment plans with patients and families.
Requires NP certification and prescriptive authority in Ohio. The APN will participate in patient education, reach joint commission requirements, and help with discharge planning in a high-acuity
Qualifications
- Master's or Doctoral Degree in Nursing preferred.
- Licensed RN in Ohio and national NP certification.
- Current authority to prescribe or eligible; credentialing required.
- Active medical staff privileges credentialing needed.
- BLS certification required; MSN/DNP or prescribe degree to pursue if not held.
Responsibilities
- Provides advanced nursing care to patients with complex acute, critical, and chronic conditions.
- Care for neonatal, pediatric, and adult populations.
- Performs high-acuity monitoring and therapies as needed.
- Participates in FPPE/OPPE and Joint Commission quality monitoring.
- Collaborates with physicians and healthcare staff to ensure quality care.
- Assists with discharge planning and consultations as directed.
