About Monetize.com
Monetize.com helps publishers monetize content through search, contextual, native, and commerce and affiliate solutions. We are hiring a publisher business development specialist to build and close partnerships with publishers that can contribute qualified lead and referral opportunities.
The opportunity
You will own new publisher acquisition from the first prospecting conversation through negotiation, signed agreement, and coordination of launch. Your focus will be publishers with relevant audiences and identifiable lead or referral paths. You will establish how traffic reaches the publisher, how interest becomes an inquiry, and what evidence supports a commercially valuable partnership.
What you will do
- Build and prioritize a prospect list of publishers with relevant content, audience intent, lead forms, referral funnels, or other suitable conversion paths.
- Identify owners and commercial decision-makers, run discovery, and qualify each opportunity against audience fit, source transparency, available inventory, and operational requirements.
- Understand the complete user journey, including traffic acquisition, landing experience, qualification steps, consent documentation where applicable, and the proposed handoff of inquiries or referrals.
- Evaluate commercial proposals using available information about conversion, lead acceptance, duplicate or invalid submissions, rejection reasons, and downstream outcomes.
- Lead pitches, manage objections, negotiate terms, and close agreements. Coordinate the tracking, reporting, validation, and launch requirements with the teams responsible for delivery.
- Keep the pipeline and forecast current, recording assumptions, decision-makers, quality requirements, dependencies, and next steps so signed terms can be implemented accurately.
What you bring
- Required: Proven experience personally acquiring new publisher partners, negotiating commercial terms, and closing signed publisher or supply agreements in lead generation, referral marketing, search, or a closely related performance channel.
- Advertiser sales, general SaaS sales, or campaign management alone do not meet the publisher acquisition and closing requirement.
- A practical understanding of how publisher content and acquisition sources influence inquiry quality, including the difference between apparent volume and commercially useful demand.
- Confidence discussing cost-per-click, cost-per-lead, cost-per-acquisition, revenue share, and related models, with attention to validation rules and the economics of rejected or duplicated leads.
- The ability to evaluate source provenance, inventory control, traffic transparency, and the evidence supporting a publisher's performance claims before recommending a deal.
- Familiarity with tracking and attribution concepts, lead qualification, reporting requirements, and integration dependencies. You can translate a commercial agreement into clear implementation expectations.
- Strong outreach, negotiation, writing, and organization skills. You can independently advance opportunities and work with internal technical, operations, and compliance reviewers when needed.
- Relevant publisher relationships are helpful, along with evidence that you can build new relationships and close suitable partners.
How success will be measured
Success means creating qualified opportunities, signing suitable publishers, and helping partnerships launch with clear quality expectations. We will also consider commercial contribution, traffic and lead quality, forecast accuracy, and the completeness of the handoff. Specific goals will be established for the role using the requirements of the agreed partnership.
