Job summary

Prince George's County Government's Department of Public Works & Transportation is seeking a highly qualified Senior Executive to lead the Office of the Director. The successful candidate will shape strategy, guide staff, and ensure delivery of large-scale public works programs across transportation, maintenance, and stormwater projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required with seven+ years of progressively responsible public works experience.
• Minimum seven years in supervisory/management roles.
• Excellent writing, verbal, human relations, leadership and management skills.
• Broad financial management and budgeting skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead DPW&T with overall leadership and oversight of staff and mission.
• Provide counsel, motivation, and performance feedback to staff.
• Oversee financial aspects, budget requests and compensation reviews.
• Provide technical guidance on public works projects incl. transportation planning, design, maintenance.
• Ensure service delivery aligns with county goals and diverse communities.
