Job summary

South Ogden City is hiring for an entry-level position responsible for construction, maintenance, and repair of city utility and public works systems, including streets, water, and sewer projects.

The role involves operating heavy equipment such as dump trucks, graders, bulldozers, loaders, backhoes, bucket trucks, and snowplows, with on-call duties and the ability to respond within 30 minutes from a call.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• At least 1 year of general work experience in a related field.
• Must be able to lift 50–75 pounds repeatedly.
• Must obtain a Class A CDL with tanker endorsement within 180 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Operate specialized heavy equipment (dump trucks, graders, bulldozers, loaders, backhoes, bucket trucks, snowplows) for street, water, or sewer projects.
• Perform maintenance and repair tasks on city utility and public works systems.
• Work on-call and respond to city calls within 30 minutes when required.
