Job summary

MountainOne is seeking a Public Works Laborer in Massachusetts to support road maintenance, storm drainage, snow removal, and earthwork duties for town infrastructure. You will operate a variety of equipment including trucks, snowplows, backhoes, excavators, power tools and hand tools.

Responsibilities

• Operate trucks, snowplows, spreaders, backhoes, front end loaders, excavators, power/tools and other equipment as needed.
• Perform maintenance on town roads, storm drains, and related infrastructure; assist with earthwork, tree maintenance and traffic control.
• Respond to urgent tasks with readiness for snow plowing and other immediate operations; wear safety gear as directed.

Conduct all necessary tasks related to the operation and maintenance of town roads, storm drains, snow removal, earthwork, tree maintenance, traffic control, and other associated duties as required.

Works under the general supervision of the Public Works Operations Supervisor. Work is performed in all weather conditions. Operates trucks, snowplows, spreaders, backhoes, front end loaders, excavators, power tools, hand tools, chain saws, mowers, trimmers, shovels, rakes and brooms etc. Have occasional contact with the public requiring tact and sensitivity. Able to follow instruction and cooperate with colleagues. You must wear safety equipment when needed or directed. Must be available outside of regular business hours for snow plowing and other urgent tasks requiring immediate attention.
