Job summary

OGDEN CITY CORPORATION is seeking an Equipment Operator I to join the Public Services department, Refuse division. The role handles refuse and recycling collection, disposal, and the Green Waste site, under supervision of the Maintenance Supervisor.

Requirements include two years of general maintenance experience and a high school diploma or equivalent. A valid CDL Class A license is required within 150 days of hire, with safety and NIMS training within one year.

Qualifications

• Two years of general maintenance experience preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Any combination of experience and education likely to provide required knowledge and abilities.

Responsibilities

• Operate refuse/recycling collection and disposal equipment and power tools as needed.
• Perform preventive maintenance on equipment and maintain tools.
• Direct and control traffic around work sites and ensure safety compliance.
• Respond to public inquiries and resolve complaints in a timely manner.
• Be available after hours for emergency operations and stand-by duties.
