Job summary

Ogden City Government seeks an Equipment Operator I in Operations to perform refuse and recycling collection and disposal duties, including work at the compost facility. The role requires ability to operate multiple heavy machines and to respond to emergencies as needed.

You will work under supervision in the Public Services department, with full-time hours and eligibility for benefits, including mandatory training such as NIMS IS100/IS200/IS700/IS800 within the first year.

Qualifications

• Two years of general maintenance experience in field maintenance work.
• High school diploma or its equivalent.
• Any combination of experience and education that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities may be qualifying.

Responsibilities

• Operate refuse trucks, dump trucks, front-end loader, skid steer, and other equipment as needed.
• Perform preventive maintenance on equipment and maintain tools.
• Direct and control traffic around work sites and ensure safety.
