Job summary

City of Lancaster (PA) is seeking a skilled operator to drive dump trucks, plow routes, and support street construction and water/sewer projects. The role requires operating heavy equipment, lifting up to 100 lbs, and performing manual labor in all weather conditions.

A Class B CDL is required, with tanker endorsement where applicable, and a willingness to obtain higher licenses within a few months. Applicants should be able to work well in a team, follow safety protocols, and adapt to changing

Qualifications

• Requires High School Diploma or GED.
• Valid PA Class B CDL with one year of heavy equipment experience preferred for some units.
• Tank endorsement (N) or ability to obtain within 3 months for Water T&D.
• Ability to operate around motorized equipment and perform manual labor safely.

Responsibilities

• Operate dump truck to haul construction materials and supplies.
• Drive snow plow and trailer, perform routine public works tasks.
• Load/unload materials, dig ditches, trim trees, and other labor as needed.
• Maintain and operate equipment, including jackhammers and power tools.
• Work in various weather and maintain safety practices.
