Job summary

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent; AND three years of experience, including one year in dispatch operations; OR an equivalent combination.
• Knowledge of call center and dispatch practices and procedures.
• Experience with data entry and maintaining records with high accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Answers incoming phone calls, determines the nature of the call for service and enters the call into the work order system.
• Dispatches the appropriate division to address the request and coordinates follow-up with residents.
• Maintains records for all service requests and ensures confidentiality of information.
• Supports interactions between the City of Galveston, the public, and city staff; adapts to new computerized systems.
• May be required to work during emergencies to provide safety and vital services.
