Job summary

Strategic Government Resources, Inc. is seeking a City Public Works/Utilities executive to lead multiple divisions under the City Manager. The role emphasizes staff supervision, budget planning, and strategic infrastructure development for water, sewer, streets, and landfill programs.

The successful candidate will oversee plans, regulatory compliance, vendor selection, and project execution while coordinating with City Council and administrators to deliver efficient public services.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, Public Administration, Construction Management or closely related field.
• Five (5) years of progressively responsible municipal public works or utility operations experience with at least two years in administration and supervision.
• Equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be considered.
• Preferred: seven years of utility operations experience with supervisory responsibility.

Responsibilities

• Supervises division superintendents and staff; selects, trains, motivates, and evaluates personnel.
• Monitors service delivery efficiency, workload, and internal reporting; identifies improvements and implements changes.
• Prepares and administers budgets; forecasts staffing, equipment, and materials needs; monitors expenditures.
