Job summary

Strategic Government Resources, Inc. is seeking an Assistant Director of Public Works in Heath, TX to lead engineering and utility functions within the Public Works Department.

The role includes directing staff, coordinating CIP projects and providing expert guidance on development review and city master plans. The ideal candidate has a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related field, at least five years of supervisory experience, and a Texas driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Five years supervisory/ administrative public works experience
• Valid Texas driver's license and professional regulation knowledge

Responsibilities

• Plan, direct, supervise and review Public Works projects and programs.
• Coordinate subdivision plats, CIP projects and master land use plans.
• Oversee construction and inspection quality for utility systems.
• Communicate with property owners, contractors and city staff on standards and regulations.
• Manage budgets and reports, ensure compliance with city codes and state regulations.
