Job summary

The City of Pasadena is seeking a Utility Worker IV Lead to join the Street & Bridge Division. You will lead crews in the construction, maintenance, and repair of streets, sidewalks, drainage systems, and related public infrastructure, ensuring safe, efficient operations.

Responsibilities include supervising daily crew activities, operating heavy equipment, performing trenching, pipe installation, and traffic control, and providing guidance and training to team members.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1–3 years of related experience or training, or an equivalent combination.
• Valid Texas Class B CDL license preferred or required depending on assignment.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily crew activities to complete tasks safely, efficiently, and on time.
• Perform excavation, trenching, pipe installation, and related utility work manually or with equipment.
• Assist with asphalt and concrete repairs and roadway maintenance.
• Set up traffic control devices and ensure work-zone safety standards.
• Operate and assist with heavy equipment and use PPE according to procedures.
• Respond to emergency situations and coordinate with other divisions as needed.
