Job summary

Halff is seeking a Public Works Intern for our Fayetteville, AR office to assist on Public Works and Transportation projects. The internship runs June 7, 2027 to August 13, 2027 and pays hourly for a 40-hour work week.

Interns support design, drafting, calculations, and permit preparation under the supervision of a Professional Engineer, gaining hands-on experience in civil engineering. Responsibilities include coordinating with surveyors, architects, and contractors, attending client/regulatory

Qualifications

• Pursuing Bachelor's or Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering or ABET accredited equivalent.
• Great communication skills.
• Solid relationship and team building skills.
• Self-motivated and strong organization skills.

Responsibilities

• Design civil engineering projects under the direct supervision of a Professional Engineer
• Assist in the preparation of plans, specifications, and cost estimates for Public Works and Transportation projects
• Perform drafting CAD work
• Perform calculations and analysis for design projects
• Assist in the preparation of permit applications and other regulatory documents
• Coordinate with other team members, including surveyors, architects, and contractors
• Attend meetings with clients and regulatory agencies
