Job summary

Halff Associates, Inc. is seeking a Public Works Intern for our Fort Worth, TX office. The Civil Engineering Intern will support Public Works projects and begin in June 2027, with an August 13th end date.

Internship pays hourly and runs full-time (40 hours/week), typically 8a-5p, with housing not provided. The role involves designing projects under supervision, preparing plans and cost estimates, drafting CAD work, and coordinating with surveyors, architects, and contractors.

Qualifications

Pursuing Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Civil Engineering or ABET accredited equivalent Engineering Degree.
Great communication skills.
Solid relationship and team building skills.
Self-motivated and strong organization skills.

Responsibilities

Design civil engineering projects under the direct supervision of a Professional Engineer.
Assist in the preparation of plans, specifications, and cost estimates for Public Works and Transportation projects.
Perform drafting CAD work.
Perform calculations and analysis for design projects.
Assist in the preparation of permit applications and other regulatory documents.
Coordinate with other team members, including surveyors, architects, and contractors.
Attend meetings with clients and regulatory agencies.
