Job summary

Halff is seeking a Public Works Intern for our Phoenix, AZ office to support Civil Engineering projects in Public Works and Transportation. The internship runs June 7, 2027 through August 13, 2027 and is paid hourly for a 40-hour work week.

As an intern you will design civil engineering projects under supervision, assist in plans and cost estimates, perform CAD drafting, calculations, and permit filings, and coordinate with surveyors, architects, and contractors.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering or ABET-equivalent degree.
• Strong communication skills are essential.
• Self-motivated with solid organizational abilities.

Responsibilities

• Design civil engineering projects under the supervision of a Professional Engineer.
• Assist in plans, specifications, and cost estimates for Public Works and Transportation projects.
• Perform drafting CAD work.
• Perform calculations and analyses for design projects.
• Assist in permit applications and regulatory documents.
• Coordinate with surveyors, architects, and contractors.
• Attend meetings with clients and regulatory agencies.
