Job summary

Ben Franklin Transit is seeking a Safety Manager to oversee the Agency’s safety programs and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. You will lead Safety Specialists and drive proactive safety culture across the agency.

The role includes investigations, monthly safety meetings, reports, audits, and continuous improvement initiatives. Strong knowledge of OSHA, IIPP, APP, and risk management is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Business, Industrial Safety, or related field.
• Five years of progressively responsible experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license.
• Demonstrated knowledge of OSHA and safety regulations.

Responsibilities

• Oversee investigations of incidents, accidents, and injuries and coordinate with claims.
• Plan and conduct monthly safety meetings and review committees.
• Provide safety reports, trends analyses, and cost-saving recommendations.
• Ensure compliance across all safety programs (OSHA, APP, IIPP, etc.).
• Monitor regulatory changes and update policies accordingly.
• Manage security and emergency preparedness programs.
• Lead root cause analyses and corrective actions for incidents.
