Job summary

State of Indiana seeks a State Eligibility Consultant to ensure accuracy and integrity of benefits for DFR programs. You will process and review SNAP, Medicaid, and TANF applications, changes, and redeterminations, ensuring adherence to policies and regulations.

Salary starts at $37,648 and compensation may reflect experience and education. You will also provide feedback for coaching and reporting, contributing to improved accuracy in the DFR review process and delivering reliable benefit

Qualifications

• Thorough knowledge of public assistance policy, practices, and procedures.
• Working knowledge of computerized eligibility systems.
• Ability to identify problems, evaluate alternatives, and implement effective solutions.
• Strong interview and communication skills.
• Willingness to travel with reasonable accommodation.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Review all eligibility recommendations and information provided by contract staff.
• Make an eligibility determination for appropriate benefits in compliance with rules and guidelines.
• Examine data matches to find inconsistent and unreported data.
• Approve claims referred and calculated by the Contractor.
• Conduct full eligibility interviews for SNAP, TANF and Medicaid applicants.
• Keep current on changes in rules and guidelines regarding benefit programs.
