Job summary

The City of New York is seeking a Technical Project Manager to support the Mayor’s Office of Criminal Justice (MOCJ) in planning, coordinating, and delivering agency-wide technology initiatives. You will work with the CTO, technology staff, leadership, vendors, and partners to ensure projects are scoped, scheduled, and completed on time.

You will manage timelines, risks, and deliverables while translating complex technical requirements into clear information for both technical and nontechnical

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Associate degree with two years of administrative, analytic, coordinative, supervisory or liaison responsibilities.
  • High school diploma or equivalent with four years of relevant experience.
  • Satisfactory combination of education and/or experience.

Responsibilities

  • Translate business needs into organized project requirements and actionable technical workstreams.
  • Develop and maintain project plans, work schedules, milestones, deliverables, RACI and implementation timelines.
  • Manage technology projects from intake through planning, implementation, testing, deployment, transition and closeout.
  • Facilitate communication between technical staff and business owners/stakeholders.
  • Coordinate training activities and user-adoption efforts.
  • Support redesign and standardization of business processes reliant on technology systems.
  • Track procurements, contracts, licenses, renewals, vendor deliverables and support agreements.
  • Review vendor plans and status reports for consistency with agency requirements.
  • Monitor vendor performance, risks, timelines, and escalate issues to the CTO.
  • Maintain records supporting invoice review, contract oversight and audit readiness.
  • Assist with tracking technology assets, licenses, warranties, and recurring costs.
  • Stay current on project management practices and emerging technologies.
