Job summary

Melrose/Wakefield Hospital is seeking a dedicated Security Officer for full-time night shift (11pm–7:30am) to protect hospital assets and people. You will perform patrols, respond to incidents, and support crisis interventions while maintaining professional conduct and excellent customer service.

Your role includes granting access, documenting incidents, and working with supervisors to ensure safety across campus. Night shift requires flexibility and adherence to hospital policies.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Valid state issued driver’s license.
• IAHSS Basic Healthcare Security Officer certification within 1 year of hire.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic public safety and security duties, patrol facilities and grounds.
• Respond to routine and emergency calls for service and report incidents.
• Provide escorts to patients, visitors, staff, and others per procedures.
• Identify safety hazards and take corrective action with other departments.
• Maintain patient, staff, and visitor safety during crises and evacuations.
