Job summary

Melrose Wakefield Hospital is seeking an entry‑level Security Officer to protect hospital assets and ensure the safety of patients, visitors, and staff. You will conduct internal and external patrols, respond to routine and emergency calls, and document incidents in accordance with policy.

This role requires English communication, basic computer skills, and a valid driver’s license. The position is full-time, evening shift (3pm-11:30pm) with alternating weekends and holidays, located at

Qualifications

• Proficient in communicating, reading, and writing in English.
• Basic Computer Skills required.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic public safety and security duties including patrols of facilities and grounds.
• Provide escorts to patients, visitors, staff and others per procedures.
• Identify security vulnerabilities, safety hazards and report deficiencies; coordinate corrective action.
• Take actions during patient crises to ensure safety with least invasive measures.
• Ensure staff carry visible ID badges and restrict access to unauthorized individuals.
• Respond to emergencies and disasters as directed by supervisors.
