Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice preferred.
• 3–5 years experience in hospital, security/police, emergency medical or customer services preferred.
• Strong interpersonal communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Patrols assigned areas, prioritizing zones with past security issues.
• Identify unsafe conditions and unsecured areas to prevent theft, injury or damage.
• Maintain strict confidentiality at all times.
• Investigate thefts and other incidents; question individuals; notify law enforcement as needed; detain suspects when appropriate; participate in court proceedings.
• Prepare and submit complete written reports; log incidents; keep Supervisor informed.
• Maintain accountability for valuables and evidence; ensure safekeeping; document securely.
• Operate dispatch and security systems; coordinate responses by radio and phone; maintain documentation.
• Assist in workplace and domestic-victim support; respond to medical emergencies; assist in restraining patients when authorized; protect dignitaries; manage traffic.
• Participate in departmental committees and task forces.
