Job summary

City of Statesville Police Department seeks a Police Telecommunicator to receive and prioritize emergency and non-emergency calls, dispatch appropriate personnel, and disseminate information to field units. This is a full-time night-shift role with a base salary range and shift differential. Requires a High School diploma or GED, U.S.

citizenship, and a valid NC or equivalent driver’s license. Benefits include holidays paid at overtime, education incentives, and certification incentives for

Qualifications

General knowledge of telecommunications practices and procedures.
Ability to manage multiple situations under stress.
Ability to communicate with diverse callers clearly.

Responsibilities

Receive incoming calls and prioritize by severity to determine public safety needs.
Dispatch law enforcement, fire, and other personnel to calls and maintain radio communications.
Operate CAD/RMS systems to log calls and retrieve information.
Maintain records of authorizations, warrants, and other required entries.
May train and mentor new telecommunicators as CTO or assist TAC/ATAC duties.
