Job summary

Commonwealth of Pennsylvania is seeking a Police Communications Operator for Troop F, Milton. You will manage call handling, dispatch incidents, and maintain electronic records to support State Police response and operations.

The role requires calm under pressure, strong communication, and the ability to work rotating shifts, including weekends and holidays. Public safety certifications may be required during probation.

Qualifications

  • Two years of experience with two-way radio, multi-line telephone, or computer aided dispatch systems.
  • Two years of experience using computer systems for entering, updating, and retrieving information.
  • Completion of 60 college credits or an equivalent combination of experience and training.

Responsibilities

  • Handle emergency and non-emergency calls; determine response priorities.
  • Relay information to Troopers and coordinate responses with partner agencies.
  • Access and maintain records using CLEAN, JNET, PFAD, and other electronic systems.
  • Answer public inquiries and assist visitors for information or support.
  • Participate in training and assist in onboarding new operators.
  • Respond to major incidents or activated plans as needed.
