Job summary

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Possession of, or ability to obtain within six months, POST communications officer certification.
• On-the-job training provided.
• Undergraduate or advanced degree in a related field preferred.
• PSAP experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Receives emergency and non-emergency requests for public safety and non-public safety services.
• Provides dispatch services regarding incidents and requests public safety assistance via two-way radio and/or telephone.
• Requests additional resources (fire, EMS, law enforcement, tow trucks, other personnel) as needed.
• Monitors fire alarm, video camera systems and incoming information from various sources.
• Broadcasts alerts to Department of Public Safety and campus community.
• Receives training and maintains applicable certifications (CPR, AED, first aid, GCIC/NCIC, POST, NIMS, ICS).
