Winston-Salem State University’s Department of Public Safety seeks a Public Safety Telecommunicator to support campus safety operations. You will learn FCC rules, respond to emergency and non-emergency calls, and dispatch using radios, CAD systems, and alarm panels.

You will train to obtain Basic Telecommunicator and DCI certifications, work 40 hours per week with shift variations, and collaborate with law enforcement and emergency responders to protect the campus community.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalency.
• Must obtain DCI computer operator certification within 45 days of employment.
• Some positions may require Basic Telecommunicator Certification within one year of employment.

Responsabilités

• Learn FCC rules and regulations pertaining to radio transmissions.
• Answer, respond, and dispatch calls per prescribed guidelines.
• Operate required telecommunications and information technology and related equipment.
